Master the skills of test management, reviews, tools and process improvement
After this training, you will:
- Create and implement a test project with a clear mission, goals and test processes that suit your organization
- Organize and conduct risk identification and analysis sessions and use the results to optimize your test budget, planning, management and control
- Create and execute test plans that align with your organization’s policy and testing strategies
- Continuously monitor and adjust test activities to ensure that they meet the project goals and quality standards
- Evaluate and report the relevance and status of the testing using appropriate metrics and tools
- Assess and recruit testers with the right skills for your team
- Identify and plan the skill development needs of your team members
- Provide a business case for testing activities that includes costs and benefits analysis
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members and other stakeholders
- Participate in and lead testing process improvement initiatives
Structure of this training
The training lasts six days, spread over a number of weeks in which you will learn all about test management, reviews, management tools and test process improvement. Exercises and discussions have an important place in this course. During the course you will practice mock exams. It is advisable to study the taught curriculum in the evenings to prepare for the exam.
The exam consists of multiple-choice scenario-based questions and will take place on day six of the course. With a score of 65% or higher you get the ISTQB Advanced Test Manager Certificate.
In case of a virtual classroom training, the exam will be planned on another day.

- Test documentation, test policy, techniques for strategy determination
- Master test plan, detail test plan
- Test estimations (e.g. TPA), test metrics, tracking and reports

- Risk management, identifying risks, risk analysis (PRISMA, FMEA), controlling the risks and checklists

- Review principles, informal review, walk through, technical review and inspection (IEEE 1028)
