Applying Scrum in a Waterfall environment

Martijn and Patrick’s stories describe how they got involved in the Industry and IT. In this article, I would like to focus on a typical theme I have encountered in my projects, many of which are being managed like waterfall or V-model projects. At the start of the project all needed requirements are gathered and described. With these requirements, the whole design and, ultimately, the building of the system components are managed. This is in stark contrast to the way requirements are being managed in e.g., Scrum projects where the product and sprint backlogs are used for managing the project.
