Derek Young
Background and work experience
After serving in the English Royal Air Force for 15 years and working for NATO in Germany, Derek entered the Dutch high-tech industry in 1994.
He specialized in complex embedded software, software testing and test management, holding various roles (such as tester, test analyst, test coordinator/test manager and Scrum Master) and working in diverse sectors (including the semiconductor industry and advanced digital X-ray equipment for medical devices).
Throughout his career, Derek has always focused on verification & validation, quality, “first time right” principles, and fast time-to-market. In recent years, he has further specialized in safety requirements, risk management, and reliability within safety-critical systems like medical devices and automotive (regulation).
